Florida didn’t merely lose a football game—the Gators shit the bed.
A week after looking like a legitimate SEC contender against Ole Miss, Florida walked into Columbia ranked No. 8 and surrendered 35 unanswered points. That is an absolute collapse.
Missouri completely took away Jadan Baugh, holding him to 13 yards on 12 carries, while Florida managed only 42 rushing yards as a team. Once the Tigers shut down the running game, the Gators had no counterpunch and no answers.
Meanwhile, Missouri imposed its will. Austin Simmons threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, while Jamal Roberts gashed Florida for 211 rushing yards and three scores. The Tigers finished with 562 total yards and made Florida’s defense look helpless.
This was an undisciplined, uninspired and poorly prepared Florida team. The Gators entered the afternoon undefeated with a chance to validate their national ranking. Instead, they exposed themselves.
Missouri deserves tremendous credit, but this was an embarrassing performance by Florida. A Top-10 team cannot get physically dominated, surrender 35 straight points and lose by four touchdowns.
Florida didn’t look like an SEC contender today.
They looked like frauds.
