Clemson got the win over North Carolina, but this is not a performance the Tigers should feel comfortable about.
They struggled to control the line of scrimmage, lacked explosiveness on offense and allowed an inferior North Carolina team to stay within striking distance. Clemson may have escaped, but it did very little to answer the larger questions surrounding this team.
Where are the elite playmakers? Where is the physical dominance in the trenches? Where is the championship identity that once defined this program?
A win is a win, but Clemson looked ordinary and ordinary will not be good enough against the better teams on its schedule. The Tigers survived North Carolina. They did not prove they have turned anything around.
They will be lucky to win four games with the team that showed up today.
