Jim Baxter (JB) is a former football coach and veteran sports television and radio personality with decades of experience covering football, recruiting, and player development.
Baxter was a founder of SCVarsity, which became one of the nation’s leading high school sports and recruiting websites as part of the Rivals network. During his media career, he worked as a national recruiting analyst and an associate pro scout for the NFL, and contributed to coverage associated with Rivals, Yahoo Sports, ESPN, FOX, CBS Sports Radio, Athlon Sports, and The Sporting News.
His experience goes well beyond the press box. Baxter was a founder of SCVarsity Sports Performance Camps and QB1 Training Camps and has worked as a coach and evaluator at Nike Football Combines and Elite 11 camps. His background in coaching, scouting, athletic evaluation, and player development gives him a perspective on football that combines the eyes of a coach with the instincts of a longtime sports journalist.
Baxter is also the author of the bestselling football books The Book on Evaluating Football Players, So You Want to Play College Football, and Becoming QB1.
