JB Talking Sports is a college football and NFL website published by James Baxter. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. You can read the site without giving us any personal information.

Information you give us

Contact form. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The message is saved on the website and sent to us by email. We use your details only to read and answer your message.

Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect your name, email address, comment, IP address and browser information. Your name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is never published. The technical details help us spot spam.

Your comment may also show a profile picture from Gravatar, a service run by Automattic. To check whether you have one, a scrambled version of your email address is sent to Gravatar.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. This site uses them only for basic functions:

  • If you tick the box on the comment form, your name and email are saved in your browser so you do not have to retype them.
  • Site authors and administrators get login cookies when they sign in.

Content from other companies

Some pages show content from other services, such as YouTube videos and our X (Twitter) feed. When a page loads this content, those companies can receive information such as your IP address, and they may set their own cookies, even if you do not click on anything.

The share buttons and social media links take you to X, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. Once you are there, that company’s own privacy policy applies. We do not control these services.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help run the site, such as our web hosting and email providers, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Comments are kept for as long as they appear on the site. Contact form messages are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We may need to keep some information if the law requires it or for security reasons.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts using something new, such as advertising or visitor statistics, we will update this page and the date at the top.
